I would look at Denon brand speakers. Professional quality and like 30$ cheaper than the overrated bose headphones

Boise makes great ones for just under $100. The noise cancellation prevents you from damaging your ears by blasting them too. Apple stores, Best Buys, and Music Stores should all carry them.

Bose headphones are expensive but amazing. The sound is super clear. Well worth it.

Thanks GregA, I can't stand how the standard Ipod Headphones are all highs and relatively no bass. I'll have to swing by Bestbuy near 48th and check out some.

i recently picked up basic sony's (to replace the Apple ones) from Best Buy for arnd @25- black with a volume adjuster on the chord, and a piece that goes in your ear to block out the sound- a benefit in that you don't have to play at a higher volume in order to compensate for background noise.

I recently got the earphones that have the plastic interchangable pieces that actually go into your ear and HATED them. Also, its pretty dangerous (besides being uncomfortable) because they block out other noise... I would recommend the standard ipod headphones...
