How can I delete my account?
If you are absolutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can click the Contact Us link, and send a "delete account" request. Please note that your account will be permanently deleted and irrecoverable!
Why do I have to sign up for a specific community?
We ask that AdviceYard members sign up for a specific community so that other members will be able to see your area of expertise or learn more about your interests. This helps make AdviceYard more interactive and user friendly than other advice sites.
Can I register for more than one community?
Sorry, but we are limiting registration to only one community. If you would like other members to know more about your interests and expertise, you can always include that information in your user profile.
How do I IM with other members?
To IM with other members, you must first invite him to your "contacts" list. If the member accepts your contact request, you can then IM with that member.
How do I know which members are online?
On each community page, under the "members section," if a user has a lightbulb  next to their name, then that member is currently online. Remember, you must first add a member to your "contacts" before you can send this member an IM. A "buddy list" of your online contacts is featured on the bottom right portion of your screen. Open this window to IM with any of your contacts.
My hometown does not have a "Yard" yet, is this site only for NYC?
While we are launching AdviceYard to the NYC area, we do plan on adding aditional cities. If you would like your city to have its own "Yard" please click on the "Want AdviceYard in Your City?" link and vote for your city. Even if you do not live New York metropolitan area, please feel free to join AdviceYard, we welcome your perspective.
How do I know if I'm getting good advice?
You don't! We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any advice you receive on this site. Please view our Disclaimer. However, by looking at a member's user rating, and community affiliation, and viewing the questions this member has answered in the past (see profile page), you may be able to gain a better insight on how credible their opinion might be on a given subject.
How do I view the answer(s) to a question?
To view the answers to a question, just click on the text of the question itself. This will take you to a new page where all of the answers to that question will be listed.
