If you are absolutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can click the Contact Us link, and send a "delete account" request. Please note that your account will be permanently deleted and irrecoverable!

To update your profile, you must visit the Edit Profile page. You can move through the different parts of your profile by clicking the tabs at the top of the page.

You can update your email address on the My Account page.

We ask that AdviceYard members sign up for a specific community so that other members will be able to see your area of expertise or learn more about your interests. This helps make AdviceYard more interactive and user friendly than other advice sites.

Dont worry! You can register for any community, even if you are not an "expert" in that field. There is no obligation for AdviceYard members to ask or answer any questions.

Sorry, but we are limiting registration to only one community. If you would like other members to know more about your interests and expertise, you can always include that information in your user profile.

If someone is bothering or harassing you, blocking them is usually the best solution. Visit the Account Settings page to learn how to block people. If someone continues to harass you despite your efforts, you can report them here.

You can report spam, pornography, or any other inappropriate content here, or by clicking the "Report" link on the page containing the content you wish to report.

You can make your profile private by visiting the Account Privacy page.

You can block people by adding their username to your blocked users list. Visit the Account Settings page to learn more about how to block people.

Under our default setting, all information contained in your profile page can be viewed by other members. However, if you would like to limit the amount of profile information that can be seen by other members, please use the Account Privacy Options found on top tool bar on the profile page.

You can block the visibility of your questions and answers by using the Account Privacy Options on the profile page.

To IM with other members, you must first invite him to your "contacts" list. If the member accepts your contact request, you can then IM with that member.

On each community page, under the "members section," if a user has a lightbulb next to their name, then that member is currently online. Remember, you must first add a member to your "contacts" before you can send this member an IM. A "buddy list" of your online contacts is featured on the bottom right portion of your screen. Open this window to IM with any of your contacts.

While we are launching AdviceYard to the NYC area, we do plan on adding aditional cities. If you would like your city to have its own "Yard" please click on the "Want AdviceYard in Your City?" link and vote for your city.
